I really don’t need much I really don’t but the basics are vital for my happiness like health a roof and warmth etc but take one of them away like hot water for a long period like what just happened really tested my patience and last night when I got home and there was no gas to even try our new boiler I was pissed off so I rang the company and told them I want gas and to do something about it! Credit where credit is due they were here within ten minutes and the gas was on in twenty so we turned on the new boiler and HOT water poured from the faucet (lol) and we were so pleased. I turned it off and back on and the same thing happened and again for a third time so I just thought I would try the heating as well just to make sure….

F£$Ki=4 B451ARDING C%?ING ARGGGHHHH I F£$Ki=4 THING!

That was it for me I had a mini breakdown of uncontrollable rage that needed a 5 minute time out on me own upstairs before I could talk rationally again!

The new boiler was doing EXACTLY the same as the last one and I’d had enough

Let’s cut now to today and the plumber returned and fitted a new PCB and tested fully and I was informed at work that it was infact now working! I was of coarse sceptical. When I got home at dinnertime I tentatively asked Jamie before I opened the door if it was still working and the smile on her face answered the question and when I opened the door the heatwave that hit me was confirmation.

That shower was thee best shower EVER!

Still no fucking hot water

At the moment we have the gas board digging the drive up and have disconnected the gas supply to separate our supply from next doors, because of this our plumber arrived with a replacement fan for our new boiler but can’t test it because there is no gas! Below are pictures of the chaos surrounding us….
The old boiler sat next to one of the three holes in our drive.

At the official weigh in yesterday Reagan was 18lbs 12 oz

She is waking in the night every night now and we now think it’s hunger I woke at 4am this morning to hear her talking to herself as she does at 7am on a normal morning she did this for 20 minutes quite happily but when no-one came she started to cry. Mommy got up and breast fed her to sleep but when she tried to put her down she woke up again so we made her a bottle and fed her in bed and after a little skin to skin contact drifted off with a full belly until 8am

We now need to find a way of filling her belly at bedtime because we reckon if its full enough she will sleep through again so Mommy will buy porridge and some rice today at the store and we will supplement (not wean) her morning meal and her bedtime meal and see how that goes

Got up to the knowledge that we were going to have HOT running water in the house for the first time in three weeks and that had to be a good thing. We didn’t have a good night again with the Reagameister, I say we I obviously mean Jamie didn’t have a good night although I did offer to take my turn when she was smashing the bedroom up in frustration at 3am I say smashing the bedroom up in frustration but what actually happened was she dropped her water bottle on the side table by accident but it SOUNDED like she was lol

Anyway….we were both tired but when Reagan wakes up at 7am and I bring her into the bedroom so she breast feed off of her momma and she smiles like nothing was the matter we just have to laugh out loud together because to her nothing is the matter!

First time I thought something could be wrong with the day was when the gas board began digging up the road at 8am bringing all manner tackle into the street. I took Jack for a walk and had breakfast as normal and went off to work leaving Jamie and Reagan to deal with the plumber.

Imagine my dismay when I got a phone call mid morning from Jamie which went something like “the gas board need to speak to you about digging up the drive to fit a new pipe, John is here wants to know if you’ll look at his computer we’ve no water or electricity Reagan is really being needy, here here’s the gas man”

Basically we were told yesterday that the gas board told us yesterday they were digging in the street but found when doing so we didn’t have our own supply so they need to fit one which entails a couple holes being dug in our yard and a pipe fitted, I had pre arranged John bringing his laptop for me to look at, the plumber needed to cut off some amenity while he fitted the boiler and Reagan is Reagan hehehe

It just got worse from then on when mid afternoon when not only all the above was happening then the new boiler show EXACTLY the same fault as the one that I ripped out yesterday….WTF? so when I got home I was confronted with Jamie with her head in her hands unable to speak no hot water a hole in the drive so we can’t get the car up and utter chaos all around me. Reagan was sat in the high chair so I picked her up and said “what have you been doing?” and she let out the cutest little giggle I have ever heard coming out of her and me and Jamie just burst out laughing and decided there and then this bad day ends here!

We got our shit together and went to me mums for a shower then went to Bargain Booze for wine and home to bathe Reagan in the sink again and put her to bed and then cooked tea together after pouring a crystal glass of wine each and cheer’sing each other saying it all just doesn’t matter

So f$%k you world, you’ll still be there tomorrow but for now the three of us don’t give a shit!

Plumber rang this morning asking if he could come today? I obviously said yes but when he arrived he said his mate had let him down so he was just dropping the boiler off and would be back tomorrow to fit it but on his own so it could take him into Wednesday to finish. I offered to rip out the old one today if I could get the afternoon off work he said this would help a lot and mean that if the pump works in the new one it will be working by tomorrow night so I asked at work and got the time off and the instruction was if you can remove it undo it or rip it out then do it!

It was actually pretty easy once you sussed out how it was all put together but I will say the way I took it out was definitely ripping not uninstalling but hey it’s a pile of scrap metal now and on the yard. Having done some measuring of the new boiler I can see some kitchen reconstruction will be required as well a new room stat which aren’t cheap so more expense to get it back to how it was before but for now we will be happy with hot water and I’ll worry about aesthetics kitchen and the stat later.

As I finished earlier than expected I rang Liz and me dad to see if I could go up to theirs early to setup their new broadband for them which was due to be turned on today They said it was fine so we all went up there. Broadband was indeed live when we go there and we had it configured pretty quickly and Liz’s laptop was online. Email on the other hand took a little longer and I needed a break from it to realise what the reason was why it wasn’t working but they are now officially in the 21st century

When will the hot water be back?

Reagan is struggling a little with sleeping through still with these toofy pegs forcing themselves through her gums but her mommy is with her every minute she needs her and that really spoils me because I don’t loose half as much sleep as she does we think also that 50% of the time now she is waking up hungry too which as I’ve said previously weaning is imminent and the introduction of some baby rice will help her sleep through the night

You couldn’t believe anything was wrong

Today Jamie shouted to me with a worried tone saying Reagan had blood on the side if her mouth…

Over the past couple of weeks Reagan has had so many things going on with her health that we have (especially Mommy) been really looking for changes in her demeanour and every slightest little thing we’ve discussed taking her to the doctor or the health visitor or going and buying some recommended medicine we have been told would help. Generally she has been OK with what the doctor originally prescribed for her viral infection and the bath solution and cream for her rash.  This week by Monday the rash had gone and she was really chipper for the most part but then we had a “bad night” on Thursday when she would not go to sleep and if she did it was brief and then she was crying a lot but was nursed to sleep by mommy but then she was awake again an hour or so later and eventually was given a bottle and this seemed to get her down again but eventually she ended up in our bed with us, not something we really want to encourage at all, but it did work and we all got about the last hour of sleep before 7am. In hindsight this had been building for a few days as it got increasingly harder to get her to go to sleep because, she would, in the early evening until about ten’ish be very restless and needy before falling solidly asleep.

The next day we discussed how hungry she was before bed during the night and the next morning and whether weaning was up on us and if we needed to act but we decided to wait until next Thursday’s weaning class before we started and just try to feed on demand until then. Last night started similarly with a very hungry Reagan but after her bottle she went off quickly, only waking only a couple of times before falling fast asleep and we actually didn’t  hear her again until 06:59 when she started chattering away like every other morning and after 15 minutes of mommy’s boob Reagan was fast a sleep again.

The bad night must have been a one off and we were OK with that because she has slept through so many weeks on the trot and we can forgive the difficulties going to sleep because no baby’s perfect (except ours … 99% of the time hehehe!)

… I dashed in wanting to know where the blood was to see Jamie foraging in Reagan’s mouth and finding two little white bumps on the right side of her gum and saying I think she must be teething, which we were convinced she was a couple of weeks ago but had our attention diverted. Jeez how could we not know that? How could we not realise she was uncomfortable? Why didn’t we see it?

We have both felt really bad all day thinking how we have got to our wits end and had to let her just cry when we could have been helping her or medicating her with Calpol or Bonjela. So all day she has shed blood as she chewed her first tooth through and by 16:00 we had a tooth all be it the tip of one as it had broken through and she was content laying asleep with Jack!

She is now in bed asleep!

Yes our boiler is deader than Ken Dodds dads dog…but I think we may have dropped lucky, because at pool last night a mate who is also a plumber said he has a 3 year old boiler he wants rid of for nothing (I know sounds too good to be true!).

He said he will fit it Tuesday and only charge us  Â£500 for the installation if I can drain the heating system before he arrives. The boiler, apparently  was removed from a flat and possibly has a faulty pump (the flat was a repo with heating on and radiators closed) but that’s it so we’re going to go with that, because we don’t think we could do better for the money and if it doesn’t need a pump happy days.

So cold showers for now but toasty warm bathing from Wednesday onwards!

Another “old” video all those weeks ago on 27 May hahaha

Just found this and can’t remember if I published it so I am publishing it now:

We all miss Grandma being around…!
