Reagan rolling for the first time

A friend of mine once said that the key key to coping with a newborn or young baby is sleep! If you can all get enough sleep its easy, but if you’re don’t it can be torture!

He was right!

Up to now we have all done very well on the sleep front but Reagan just isn’t sleeping through the night any more? At best she wakes at 4am for food and then settles really quickly and sleeps til 7. at worst she is up every hour or so and nothing will settle her only time!

Last night mommy tried for an hour from 4:30 and used her whole repetouir before finally passing the challis to me at 5:30 exhausted. I took Reagan downstairs and sat with our little screaming bundle of joy with the view that I will talk to her ubtil she stops crying because I know there is nothing wrong with her that mommy has not thought of and I was 5 minutes trying to fix her eye while she screamed in my face but just kept turning away as though I was the reason she feels like this when the cat walked behind me and SILENCE?

The screaming stopped and and aprt from the snivel she was happier than a pig in shit just watch Sasha lick her own arse Uurgghhh? Jack walked past and she followed him around the room and was merrilly watching them both go about their nighttime business while I settled down on the sofa to shut my eyes with her using me as a back rest. She dozed off doing that so I laid her next to me and we went to sleep together until 07:30 when mommy got up.

We just do not know why she does it, we go through the check list hunger, wet, windy, hot, cold etc but its usually time that heals nothing else?

Pam asked what was meant by my “Highs and Lows” blog and in particular the visa bit? I was merely pointing out that to obtain a visa cost a lot of money, which we are fully aware of but they always want more.

Not only is it very expensive anyway, and to do it all legally you have to renew your visa’s unless you go for ‘Naturalisation’ or citizenship, but you can’t do that, until you have gone through the correct visa protocol! When you hear that its going up by £60 it just makes you think that if you were for example Polish you can walk into the country without so much as a by-your-leave or if you are entering illegally you will be met by feckin do gooders who will guide you to the nearest benefits office who will advise you on your rights and where you get money housing and a job but the last one is not necessary because of the first two!

It annoys us is when, through pig ignorance, people tar us with the old “you must get handfuls of cash given to you because you’re an immigrant!” speech and the only thing you can do is try to tell them in a way that they understand and more importantly believe that we paid for the ‘privilege‘ and are still paying, to live as a family here in England and Jamie has not receive one penny in help because for two years she is not entitled to receive anything. Funny thing is she allowed to work and pay Income Tax if she can find a job to help pay for the illegals of the parish?

The rules as they stand are:

  • You apply to enter this country telling your whole life story and also your intended spouses life story in very fine detail, package it all up and send it to someone who can say yes or no on what they read and it cost a $1000 for the privilege
  • You get here and for six month so long as you don’t marry you your fine but then you marry and that visa is void and they want you to obtain another type of visa but that costs £1000 as well
  • For two years you’re then free to do as you please and you can forget about immigration completely until they require you to obtain a third visa (which is where we are now) which is about to increase in price by £60 1st November so if you go in person £1250 (fast tracking) but if you do it by post which can take two months will cost £900
  • We are good then for ten years and after that another ten year visa or after 3 years go for citizenship both options entail a £735 fee (at today’s rates)
N.B. Please understand this is my memory of events not precise information and if its different or you do not agree with any of it please don’t bother wasting your time correcting me because it doesn’t matter and I just don’t give a f$%k anyway 😉 cheers!    The truth is out there! http://talk.uk-yankee.com/

So maybe £60 extra in the big scheme of things is nothing but it just grates when people don’t know what actually goes on, and I haven’t even mentioned Reagan’s paperwork here and the cost of that!
The beauty of doing all this legally is firstly and most importantly we are together and secondly we never have to hide when someone knocks on the door!
Hope this goes some way to explaining things to those who wanted to ask but didn’t and those who did but got the answer from their daughter before I wrote this.

Broken sleep is a drag for mommy and daddy while Reagan continues to wake at 4am? We all get sleep but its not as good as sleeping right through the night in one go.

Jamie’s beaming smile while she told me about walking in to town today and meeting four of her bezzies along the way and how people who saw 5 new mommies in convoy trooping along chattering away as they went. Jamie really looked excited and bubbling with happiness telling me about her day and most of all about HER friends and how good that makes her feel!

The government have announced that her next visa (ILR) will £60 dearer by the time we can apply and that means even if we do it by post its going to cost nearly £1000 and we miss out on her applying for citizenship by weeks which means the man will want another wedge in 3 years time Makes you think that all these European immigrants that get in for nowt and are given a great life for free don’t know just how lucky they are?

I looked at Reagan tonight and she giggled and went all coy hiding her face in mommy’s chest just because I was there made melt as she does everytime I see her……well almost everytime?

Tonight I did bedtime and it all went quite well under the watchful eye of mommy and she commented that I don’t do anything different to her and can’t understand why she cries which she hadn’t done up to then. I dressed her and got her ready for bed and gave her a bottle and when the bottle was done she was asleep for a minute then she screamed….and screamed? Not sure what I do wrong but it took 10 tense stressful minutes until her will was broken and she drifted of to sleep

I love my wife my daughter and my life!

…don’t think words would enhance these pics, so I won’t bother writing any!

Waking from broken sleep and creeping around the house until Reagan and Mommy awoke I set about clearing out my closet because I needed my walking clothes for next weekends trip to the lakes, as well as the fact that it’s turned very Autumnal here in England of late and I haven’t seen me jumpers for a while.

Once that was done I asked Jamie if she wanted me to clean out her closet too and before I finished me sentence she relied YES! Anyone who knows Jamie will back me up on this I’m sure that closet cleaning or keeping a closet tidy does not feature very highly (if at all) on her list of priorities?

Keeping an eye on proceedings!
Busy hanging Mommy’s stuff!
“You take your eye off her for a second and…”
The plan for Saturday was to go and see the Middlewich World War 2 event so we had breakfast and walked into town to be greeted by lots of the shops decorated like the period and loads of people in period dress ranging from soldiers in uniform to shop keepers dressed like the time the weirdest feeling was that seeing all this and especially people milling around the main street in ordinary clothes from the time it felt like we’d had gone back in time.
A stroll up to market field took us first past the fire station which had engines from days gone by that we could go and look around as well as the modern day appliance ready for action. The Civic Hall contained a plethora of information about Middlewich during the war and it was so interesting to read about the time and a fact I wasn’t aware of that 3 bombs actually landed on Middlewich thought to be aimed at Byley aerodrome a couple of miles north. The pictures of Middlewich I always enjoy looking at trying to place the town now in the old wartime photos and seeing how much it has changed!
…more Yanks in Middlewich?
Onto the field and there was an encampment frequented by British infantry, American soldiers Czech soldiers even some French Resistance fighters…oh yeh and some bloody Germans too. We wandered about until they began there demonstration of military weaponry which I have to say must have been bloody frightening to here every day for years and makes you realise how brave our soldiers were to fight for their country
A funny incident that made us smile was a conversation between a couple of the visitors to the show one was an old gentleman and the other a lot younger who said “there’s a lot of Germans here!” and the older gents reply went something like “don’t talk to me about them bastards!” 65 years on and still feelings run high in people who had to fight for our freedom, it seems.
Into the community Centre where there was a display of everyday items from the time like ration books gas masks shrapnel soaps like carbolic and fairy there were dolls and toys and all manner of things some of which I actually remember still being around when I was a boy hard to believe I know because as you can see I am so young and youthful looking lol!
Back out onto the field there was a fly past by a RAF Dakota plane used in the war to end the day, a day I think Middlewich and the organisers should have been very proud of! Both Jamie and me thought it was excellent.

I was actually taking a photo of the tent , I didn’t see this tank!

Date night was good later too we had cheese and spinach stuffed chicken with 4 veg washed down with a couple of margarita’s and lazed in front of the telly until we nodded off at around half ten? Oh how times have changed when we are slothing off to bed before 11 on a Saturday night hahaha
Just another day in paradise, lol!
