After waking from a 12 hour sleep Reagan has spent the day screaming and crying, sleeping and smiling chewing and gnawing then crying some more! We just ate tea during which she exploded and I mean it was up her back her front down her legs and stunk OMG! We cleaned her up and got her dressed because it was 30 minutes too early for bedtime and came downstairs to play and have a look at her toof only to be presented with TWO toofs, explaining why our normally happy contented little bundle of joy has been so unhappy…

She is happy now content as ever and may \ hopefully sleep again right through after a hard days teeving…

Anyway just incase she does mommy has opened white and me red and the nights still young…..yay!

Didn’t want to announce it like we did last time and find we were just over excited parents that clearly don’t have any idea what’s going on but this time we are sure…

It happened Wednesday a sharp thing in her mouth was felt and on closer inspection which entailed mom and dad ‘PRISING’ open a laughing Reagan’s mouth who has no idea what’s going on?

We looked and saw A TOOTH!

She started to protest at mom and dads advances and her lips curved in to the “I’m going to scream this place down if you two don’t move the fcuk away” so we stopped but have checked Aaaaall the time since and as I write this we have a definite toof on the left in the middle at the bottom and visible. We also have a very visible through the gum a second toof which I reckon will be through by Monday…!

If you think Reagan is cute now imagine her with these two teeth when she smiles or laughs…oictures will follow as soon as available!

If you’re reading this you have accepted my invite and I am flattered that you are interested enough to login to read what I write the reason for the change is an unusually high number of hits from Turkey like nearly 500 in one day which just spooked me a little and decided to make it private.

I started this blog for the sole purpose of making Pam feel a part of our lives here in England and to show her the progress Reagan makes everyday (although I do get lazy from time to time, sorry Pam) and for a time it was nice  to think other people I don’t even know wanted to read about our lives but to protect my family from now on if you’re not invited you won’t be able to read about us any more!

That said if you know of any readers who want an invite I have no problem you passing on my details, they just need to email alb1970@sky.com explaining who they are and I will be glad to send them an invite!

Thank You for your interest

Al

So into week 2 our new lifestyle \ schedule change that is, Jamie working and my responsibilities of picking up Reagan after work and starting her evening on me own.

This is what I did last week:

Leave work at 17:30
Arrive home at 17:38
Shower change and get Jack 17:45
Arrive at mums house 17:58
Leave mums house with Reagan 18:10
Arrive home 18:23
Sort Reagan and begin her tea
Mom arrives home 18:40ish

So maybe the 30 minute lunches is a viable option now because a five o’clock finish helps the night go smoother

Thist week the schedule has been:

Leave work at 17:00
Arrive home at 17:08
Shower change and get Jack 17:15
Arrive at mums house 17:30
Leave mums house with Reagan 17:40
Arrive home 18:00
Sort Reagan
Start mom and dad’s tea and play with Reagan and begin her tea
Mom arrives home 18:40ish

Quite hectic but much more productive

The community of parents picking kids up from parents or child minders is also a new phenomenon, there’s loads of them, and I am one of them come rain or shine walking round Middlewich

Reagan’s outfit for Halloween
The 49ers don’t stand a chance!!!
THANK YOU GRANDMA

We did bedtime last night and decided to give Reagan nasal drops tixylix and karvol vapours before we put her down to sleep and apart from a fuss and a cough an hour after she went to sleep where mommy went up to her to settle her we didn’t hear anything from her until 06:08 this morning. I even went to listen to her breath at around 05:00 because I was worried I hadn’t heard her but I needn’t have worried she was sound asleep!

She still has a cough when we brought her into our bed at 06:45 for moms boob and her nose was still rattling when she was feeding but at 07:30 she was happily shouting as loud as she possibly could playing with a binky and Geraldine while I wrote this blog

Mom and Dad got a good nights sleep to recharge and hopefully Reagan is on the mend but we may use prevention again tonight just incase!

The message I got while refereeing a pool match in Winsford was “She not even snoring just sound asleep, the only crisis we have is I’m out of wine!!!” the scene I returned to at around 22:30 was a screaming Reagan with mommy cradling her not sure what to do for the best….?

Now I consider myself a pretty calm sort of person and believe panicking doesn’t achieve anything but when I saw and heard our daughter in distress and struggling for breath it was very hard not to just burst into tears and dash to the hospital or call an ambulance so I took a deep breath and assessed what was going on.

She woke up because she was coughing and the reason she was coughing was mucus in her throat, her throat sounded very dry and her nasal tubes very rattly but her chest did still sound clear so we looked at what we had at our disposal and this is what we did

The house was very warm and dry because Jamie put the heating on which is exactly what I would have done because I’ve always been taught to keep warm if you’re ill but looking at the situation logically her dry throat didn’t need a dry enviroment so we switched it of and opened a window. (we could run a steaming hot bath if more moisture was required but for now the window will do)

We had Tixylix cough medicine so we gave her a dose of that, funny thing hear is she really ddin’t want to open her mouth when she saw what we were trying to do but when she smelled it she was wolfin’ it down lol

We had nasal drops so we gave her a good dose of those, now she does NOT like those oh man we had some tears 🙁

We had Karvol which we put in some cottonwool and tied in one of her socks then shoved up her jama top so the vapours were right next to her nose!

…and lots of water!

We made a nest in our bed so she could sleep \ be next to us all night and if she does sleep we just shut our eyes and sleep too

After lots of false starts she was so tired she drifted off before midnight and we all slept til 03:30 when she woke again and cried a little coughed a little and fussed a lot took on some water while mom went downstairs to collect supplies like a bottle of milk more Kalvol etc but by the time she got back Reagan was blissfully asleep I’m sure smiling wryly at how much trouble mom went to for nothing?

We both snuggled into her again and we all slept again til about 06:30 when as yesterday morning Reagan was as bright as a button and mommy and daddy both look like shit…all this just confirmed my belief that I would do anything for Reagan and her mom too!

Mommy and Daddy spent most of last night awake trying to make Reagan comfortable after being woken by her  struggling for breath because of a rasping chesty cough she acquired. Problem is she doesn’t know how to cough and how do you teach a child less than six months old how to cough anyway? So we spent the night holding her in ways that helped her and laying either side of her listening to her rattle wishing she could cough, yask, hock up spit or do that “dragging phlegm from the nasal passage into the throat and then gozzing it out” thing we can all do but hate to hear anyone else attempting….!

At one point at around 3am I think Mommy was holding Reagan both covered in a blanket in Reagan’s room and I was sat on our bed wrapped in a blanket listening to the both of them, wishing I could help not daring to lay down incase I fell asleep when I was needed.

One funny moment came when we were all back in our bed and I lay there and accidently let out one of those single snores that creep up on you even though you are awake, luckily Reagan stayed asleep but Jamie heard it and prodded me? I whispered that I was awake, and continued to lay there listening to Reagan sleep. Less than a minute later the prodder becomes the prodded when mommy starts to snore dead loudly in Reagan’s ear my prodding was in vane though because for the next few minutes I listened to both of them sleep really loudly!

We got through the night but rang the doctors for an appointment as soon as they opened and got in at 11am. Reagan was as bright as a button like normal this morning smiling at me probably wondering why and what is happening to her and why mommy and daddy both look like shit?

First of many sleepless nights, probably?

I bet all parents wish they could be ill for their babies but for now we have keep her comfortable and trust the doctors will sort the infection out quickly!

Sometimes I look at Jamie and Reagan and think it don’t get better than it is right now, an then something happens like Reagan rolls from back to front and I can’t believe I’m so fortunate to be able to see things like that!

Today Jamie got a job and I felt the same elation that she just goes out and takes on this country and her new life without fear and conquers another hurdle without any drama at all!

So proud of you dude, just can’t find the words to describe it!

May the sun shine on you both, always! Love you!
