As I’ve said before in these blogs “if you get enough sleep you can cope with anything” unfortunately at the moment our little bundle of joy is teething again and is suffering all the classic symptoms. Wednesday night she woke at 01:30 and mommy and me took shifts until 05:30 when she finally went back to sleep for longer than 10 minutes at a time. I got up and took her downstairs at 07:30 for an hour giving mom a chance to catch some sleep but both of us were out of it all day, I actually nodded off in the dentist waiting room last night.

We were both praying she slept through last night as we got into bed before 23:00 which is very rare for us and were both out for the count pretty quickly. Thankfully it was 05:30 that we heard her this morning fussing and talking away to herself so I got up and fed her a bottle and remember how frustrated I felt when she woke up as I laid her back in the cot and had to sit there for a further 15mins until she drifted off to sleep again I don’t remember what time it was when I finally got back in to bed but it seemed like a minute before I had to get up again, it was probably 06:30ish so I slept in until 08:15 and Jack didn’t get a walk this morning

Mommy is out on the lash tonight with the girls so daddy is planning to study the back of his eyelids as soon as Reagan is asleep later….!

Taken from this weeks local paper.

(….and if I could blow me own trumpet, I would never go out)
Jobs a good ‘un!
Peek a boo

Sunday morning was strange because I woke up feeling pretty good considering how much we drank the previous day and that’s good because Reagan could not care less if your ill whether self inflicted or not she just wants mom or dad to come get her and change and feed her so as per the norm she was awake around 07:30 and we got up!

Patty’s soooo funny!

She was happy to play in the living room while I cleared away the party and washed up, when she got fussy I sat with her and screwed together the toy Patty and Ian bought for her then we played with it for 20 minutes or so which she loved. It was interesting to watch her work out what was happening watching the ball you shove in the mouth of the toy then helter skelter down to one of four feet while playing a tune and flashing a light.

Mommy got up at 09:00 after a welcome rest and took over Reagan while I made the house just about presentable so that Patty and Ian could come over for breakfast. Lashings of coffee some eggs and bacon were the order of the day after which the four of us had a lazy morning chatting and keeping Reagan amused and making her laugh, then went for lunch at the Salt Cellar before Patty and Ian headed off home.

Ian commented on my last blog “I wish we lived a bit closer so we could socialise more often.” It’s so rare to fine two people who are both completely on our wavelength all the time and it is a shame we live so far apart because I’m sure we would socialise A LOT more, but for now, we thank you for a great weekend and look forward to the next time we are all together!

Uncle Ian & Aunt Patty

Just another lazy Sunday

Being cute is soooo tiring!

The Forsters

Make me laugh again Aunt Patty…

On Friday morning Jamie began her Thanksgiving meal by going shopping for the bajillionth time to get some bits she had thought of and began cooking at midday when I returned home from work she was still cooking. I washed up some of the pots she’d used but everything was under control so I left her to it and had a shower and got me jamas on at 20:45 she announced that she’d run out of eggs and the frustrated look on her face had “get dressed and walk into town and get me more eggs” written all over it so I did exactly that so. At 23:00 she was still in the kitchen and I have to admit I got a bit short with her because she was tired and needed to rest but she wouldn’t stop (Soz)

Reagan and I got up at 07:30 and let Mommy sleep till 08:30 when the turkey who she had named George had to go into the pre heated oven. By that time I had peeled all the potato’s of which there were many but I don’t want to go on about just how many potato’s I actually peeled and chopped up because it was just peeling potato’s no biggy really we just needed them peeling so I peeled them….all of them!

Jamie was like a whirlwind all morning sorting out Reagan while creating the perfect day. The meal was to start Shrimp, crab and scallop coctail sauteed in white wine and garlic served with horseradish cocktail sauce which I’d had before and really enjoyed and this time didn’t disappoint either. Followed that with George easily the juiciest most succulent turkey I’ve ever tasted, traditional stuffing, gravy, creamy mashed potato’s candied sweet potatoes, green bean and pearl onion casserole, herbed corn, orange infused cranberries and jellied cranberries  For desert home-made pumpkin pie with cream numnumnumnum!

Our geusts arrived Sam Andy and Alfie from the end of the block (well its thanksgiving so I won’t say from up t’ road lol) me mom and our very good friends Ian and Patty another American who until she arrived at the house was completely unaware Jamie was celebrating thanksgiving as a surpise for her. Patty shed a few tears of happiness as we greeted her with “HAPPY THANKSGIVING” which was nice, because I know both girls can miss home so to be together for a traditional holiday was a tonic for them!

“Love the Handbag Ian”
 “Cheers Reagan!”
Not sure this is who
Grandma had hoped to see
wearing this bib?

Jamie said we would be eating at 14:00 and wasn’t far wrong as everyone took their places and over the next hour or so filled their bellies with the mountains of food that was on offer and washed it down with a drop of wine Everyone was so impressed with Jamie’s efforts, I for one can not put into words how proud I am of her!

The rest of the day was spent one slow blink away from a thanksgiving coma and drinking, talking and generally being happy, watching and playing Alfie and Reagan. As our guests drifted away it left Jamie me Ian and Patty carry on drinking once Reagan was asleep and genuinely enjoy their company and was belly laughing on more the on occasion  throughout the evening before inevitably it was time to leave.

Very Drunk at this stage!

All in all Jamie made the whole day special with all her hard work Thanks Dude!

“Car Car………Car………Car Car Car …………Car……… Car Car” is so cute when you hear Reagan say “car” at dinnertime or when you get home from work “Car……Car…..Car” not so cute at 5am?

I had to laugh though this morning at 05:50 because we were in her room while mommy was still in bed and we were laying nose to nose after Reagan had drunk 3oz of milk it was dark and I was hoping she would nod off and we could both get some more sleep before day break, she on the other hand was 100% awake and decided  to practice “Car” in ever increasing volume.

So I lay there my nose touching Reagan’s nose with her quite content to say “car” over and over and over again all I could do was laugh and get up….I changed her nappy and we went down stairs to watch CBeebies!

Reagan was merrily pushing herself around the yard on her baby walker (I will get a video asap) when I got home at dinnertime, she is growing up so fast aided by her Mom allowing her to flourish at every opportunity. People are aghast sometimes when they see how much she can already do, but Jamie just moves her on as soon as she shows signs she is ready or wants to thats it Jamie is allowing her or facilitating it!

Bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah bah…..is constantly heard around the house now usually as loud Reagan can shout it! You can have a bah bah conversation with her if you want to, you say bah bah bah bah bah bah and then wait she will respond with bah bah bah bah bah bah Ok it’s not the big bang theory or quantum physics but its a conversation and she loves it.
