The BBQ tea was a huge success we all had sausages some more than others, afterwards Jamie looked pregnant (and is!) I looked like Jamie (and isn’t?) and Reagan loved her first taste of BBQ pork and sweet chilli sausage.
Moving swiftly on Jamie is asleep on the bed I was working on a new website on the computer next to her and after a modicum of success I decided to go to bed myself as it was 23:45 and just as my head hit the pillow Reagan stirred…
She quite quickly went from stirring to screaming the place down and I was at a loss to know what to do but as I sat stroking her head I kept hearing her ‘trumpeting’ and when I eventually cradled her she burped….no ,ore spicey sausages for Reagan me thinks!
I made her a small bottle of milk and went back upstairs to administer calpol and soothing milk and was met at the top of the stairs by mommy who was away and not best pleased but volunteered to take over as it was 00:50 now. So I went to bed and mommy won ALL the credits from Reagan who probably thinks now thinks dad is an incompetent buffoon who knows nothing about babies….faffs about for an hour while I wreath around in agony and mom sorts me it 5 minutes good night 🙁
Ah well, maybe one day she will read this and realise the truth…
How many times over the coming months will my weekend blogs begin “Took Reagan out for a couple of hours this morning…” Sunday morning started at 04:50 with Reagan crying, not sure why but suspect she was just awake and lonely so mommy took one for the team and got up with her although I believe she just took her down stairs put the telly on and bedded down on the sofa until I got up and started our day with coffee and breakfast
Once done Reagan Jack and me headed out into the sun for a couple of hours allowing mommy to have a hot bath and go back to bed. While out Reagan drifted off into her morning nap so I stopped off at the park and IM’d mommy to see if she wanted to join us which she did so I sat and read the morning paper until she arrived.
Can I just say here that I felt pretty damn proud as she walked towards us in the park because she looked looked fantastic !
We spent half an hour watching Reagan play on the climbing frame and on the swings and then wandered home to get ready to go to nannies house. Once we had eaten there and spent a lazy hour talking and watching telly we made our way home and pottered in the garden a while Reagan slept.
As we sat there in the sun I thought if weekends are always like this throughout the summer we are going to have so much fun with Reagan, and at the end of the summer, adding to our family will be the perfect transition into Autumn
…but maybe sleeping til 8ish would be nice!
OMG REAGAN NO! came the cry from upstairs…..!
No pictures, no detailed description just your own imagination is all that’s required here!
Upon leaving the bathroom, Mommy was reacting to seeing Reagan chewing a piece of sweetcorn last seen at teatime last night…..?
Took Reagan out for a couple of hours this morning while mommy went to pregnancy yoga, although I had to fix a puncture on the pram first. Now this is the first puncture we’ve suffered since the great ‘puncture repair kit shortage’ of 2010
Once done we went in to town and met lots of people who adored Reagan because she smiles at everyone and waves at most, we even saw nannie in the street too. We spent the whole morning walking in the sunshine until Reagan dropped off to sleep and didn’t wake until the moment we got home.
After returning home we all ate dinner and then went into the garden, some of us to play and some of us to potter although I lost my gardening mojo far sooner than mommy I went in an played with Reagan and did little else for the rest of the day while mommy cooked tea
Jamie really is the best wife and mom anyone could ever have, Reagan and me gave mommy a round of applause for a superb tea which made mommy smile
Apple fritters where yesterdays \ todays craving and Jamie left this morning for Crewe having Googled the recipe and made a list of her missing ingredients.
Got home at dinner time Reagan was sat in her high chair eating her dinner with her face covered in half of it… and mamma was at the table eating freshly baked apple fritters with her face half covered in them mumbling through her food filled mouth “wanna try some” lol.
Upon finishing it she wiped her mouth on her sleeve and said “right thats yesterdays craving
sorted!”
I may have embellished slightly for effect here?
