Reagan and I have this routine worked out now at bedtime, it goes something like this Reagan says goodnight to mommy and mommy leaves. We then settle down for a bottle and a story from our chosen book then Reagan stands up and I lay her down…we repeat this cycle three or four times until she is just too tired to stand but she may sit up a couple of times after this then she gets “the stare”

“The Stare” is the relaxed zone out just before her eyes start to droop when she just lays there listening to the story. Her eyes started to droop a couple of minutes later and I watched her out of the corner of my eye and it took less than a minute for her eyes to gently close and for her to drift off. She looked so beautiful as she slept and its unbelievable that five minutes earlier she was VERY awake and stood reaching for the book I’m reading to her, looking like it could be a long night and now she’s perfectly asleep?

Ok a valid question of all the saints that ever existed, were any of them parents and if so were they ever tested by their children to the point where they actually swore?

“Its enough to make a saint swear!”

Well I’m no saint…..yet, but I am sure it’s only a matter of time before one of the religions come calling looking for some gadge worthy of sainthood and I’ll have to way up the pros and cons before I give them me answer?

I didn’t like how I felt but Reagan was just whining even though I would have done ANYTHING she wanted to apeese the situation but her frustration with not being able to tell me what was wrong, coupled with my frustration with not knowing what to do I may have let slip an AW FOR FUCK SAKE!

I know that’s wrong because if she could tell me what she wanted shE would but I had a momentary lapse…?

So, do saints swear or have I blown any chance of my calling?

A cute photo in my opinion of Reagan cuddling her brother.

Reagan in the garden

We just got back from a lovely sunny walk Reagan is wrapped up tight in one of Aunty Em’s ducky blankets and I am watching hail stones as big as marbles pound the garden?

I guess the rest of Saturday will be spent in doors 🙁

As you have seen over the last couple of days my blog is again being regularly updated again after a couple of baron weeks, tonight I have a couple of videos to show you the first is the long awaited walking video. It shows Reagan as she is now and she has been about the same for for about a week or so, her balance is improving but she will only walk if mommy and daddy encourage her to do it. We know she will walk on her own when she’s ready but until then we will have fun with her and encourage her but not push it.

…a little bonus video just for Grandma

Tonight’s bedtime book was “Follow the fish” by Katie Price about a pirate called Pete and a mermaid called Katie which I wasn’t too impressed with as a bedtime book because there was no story, it was more of a learning to count type, joining in book which meant I needed to be a bit creative with what I was actually talking about other than the words written in the book!

Apart from halfway through her bottle when she decided she wanted to sit up and I had to lay her back down and give her the bottle back, she drifted off as she has done since Monday and I was left to go and join mommy, leaving her to dream nice dreams till morning.

During tea tonight which was cavatappi pasta in a tomato sauce I was handing Reagan her fork with a piece of pasta when she decided it was time she tried it for her self. The thing she wanted to try was feeding herself from grabbing the fork to stabbing the pasta to eating it from the fork, and to both mommy and my amazement and joy she stabbed her fist piece of pasta and ate it from the fork!

What followed was the loudest round of applause we have ever given her with a bit of cheering and a lot of crying from mommy? While we were busy with that Reagan had managed to stab and eat another piece which just made mommy cry even more! After those two successes she struggled to repeat it succeeded only once more and short time later but she was so pleased with herself we all clapped at the end of tea!
