Cheersin’ is the new fave rave at the kitchen table
When Mommy took this she immediately said “WOW!” and showed it to me!
When Jamie saw the EXACT same cot bed as Reagan’s for half the price we bought it staright away and on Saturday morning we \ I assembled it with a little help from Reagan:
Sometimes you don’t even have to try and you have a fabulous day, and yesterday was one of those days! No, our son wasn’t born but that was the only reason why it wasn’t PERFECT? We all had a lie in until almost 9am then took our time over breakfast before getting ready and setting off for a walk in the September sunshine. We bumped into lots of people we knew while drifting through town and onto the towpath eventually arriving at The Newton Brewery at midday where we stopped for a drink and a rest while we watched Reagan tear around the enclosed beer garden. After that we went onto the park next to it where Reagan had soooo much fun it was exhausting to watch!

CRASH BANG ….silence SCREAM!
The crash got our attention, we immediately stopped what we were doing!
BANG we were frozen listening!
The silence the worst bit because its the moment the panic sets in!
The scream is bitter sweat because the scream means it’s not serious, in a she’s conscious and is feeling pain but there lies the bitter straightaway OMG she’s hurt?
I was on the computer and Jamie was hoovering the “kids” room when it happened. We both dashed to Reagan who had pulled an unsecured full length mirror (very heavy) onto herself although she was sat by the wardrobe and it had come to rest next to her but she was screaming trying to shake hold suck her hand\arm area?
A very quick assessment of her and it was her index finger on her righthand that was the problem and it was going black very quickly! We scooped her up and reasurred her that it will be alright and took a close look at her finger much to the dismay of Reagan and I have to sat it looked BAD!
We were panicking to say the least and Mommy was ready to ring the “Emergency Room” but Reagan had now stopped crying and I was watching her and she was bending it and if you handed her something she would use it gingerly to take it from you. The problem was the blood that was building up behind her nail so we decided to pop the blister with a pin and to her credit as she hugged her Momma she let me do it and didn’t even murmer.
It helped straightaway and over the next few hours just got better and better to the point that at bathtime she had forgotten about it!
We were absolutely beside ourselves when it happened and blaming ourselves for not moving the mirror and we should have been watching her and and and….! We realise this is not the last time by any means that she will hurt herself and we can’t watch her every minute but it doesn’t make us feel any less guilty this time but at least she’s OK!
This was so much fun on Friday, we tried it again on Saturday and it resulted in a black eye for Reagan Saturday wasn’t a good day on the injury league for Reagan 🙁
No contraptions tonight and last nights faded away Jamie got a nights sleep although I refrain from saying “good” nights sleep because it was somewhat turbulent for her but she did get some rest but woke, not in labour. That did mean a September baby though which means he will have a slight advantage over his school friends because he will always be the oldest in his class?
We spent the day as normal, with me at work and Mommy looking after Reagan.
With the occasional contraction and with Lincoln moving a lot and doubling up Jamie at times we are sat again watching the telly sometimes lying and just trying to keep rested as best we can and making sure Jamie is hydrated and fed so she is ready which she is….very ready!
We are not panicking or anything like we would have done the first time round, I went out to play pool as always on a Wednesday night but drove so I was able to get home whenever or whatever happened. I left mommy in good health with a full tummy (need to keep energy up so big tea) bathing Reagan.
I was out for an hour or so and was using my berry to time a frame of pool when…..”BATTERY EXHAUSTED HANDSET WILL NOW SHUTDOWN” Nooooooo not now!!!!!!!
My mate john was good enough to lend me his phone so after the frame ended I called Jamie who informed she was having mild but regular contractions but not to dash home they’re not enough to worry about so I played my frame (and won, awoot awoot) then left saying I was needed at home which is where we are now at 22:17 with Jamie still having mild regular contractions but still nothing to woory about.
Jamie will try to rest and eat, eat and rest and we will see if we can make it at least until tomorrow….and maybe a good nights sleep?
A quick update because I want to make sure its documented, we saw the midwife yesterday and she gave Jamie her first sweep and actually touched our son’s head!
She said to Jamie before she began that if she felt any discomfort at all she must say and she will stop. After a very short time Jamie said “Ouch your wedding ring is chafing slightly” the midwife said “I’m not married, that’s me wristwatch love!” lol I jest of coarse….
The sweep was done and we left hoping it would start the onset of labour over night but alas we are sat here ready for bed again and still no baby. I have to say at this point that I want a September baby because he will just have that little edge of being the oldest in every school class until he leaves school. In England the cut off date for each school year is August 31st so an August baby will always start school along side children possibly a year older than them and in the early years that is ALOT!
He will come when he’s ready I know but since the sweep Jamie has felt latent labour but no really serious contraptions (LOL) just the constant tightenings and uncomfortable feelings familiar to her from having Reagan. I said many weeks ago he will be born 2nd September and I still believe I will be correct…we’ll see?
Today was a strange day…we got up and drifted through the morning doing absolutely nothing and decided to go out for lunch at The Brighton Belle where Reagan ate her lunch as a little princess and I was very proud of her (as I always am) mommy on the other hand was beginning to feel ill although didn’t feel she was too bad.
After dinner we went to Polar Palace….
