Lincoln went for his scheduled 6 week check up this morning and measured 23″ long and weighed 12lbs 7oz a gain of 13.5oz since “6 days” ago (his normal weigh day is tomorrow) His head circumference is 16″

He is on the 80th percentile for weight and the same for height which is perfect.

The doctor praised Jamie on his weight gain saying he is thriving on breastfeeding alone, he also praised her for going to the doctor and demanding medication for reflux because as a doctor and knowing what he knows now he would have put his own daughter on reflux medication 10years ago but back then and to some degree nowadays colic is always diagnosed. The plan now is to try weaning him off the medication in a weeks time to see if he still needs it.

Lincoln weight history:

02 Nov 2011 – 12lbs 7oz
27 Oct 2011 – 11lbs 9.5oz
20 Oct 2011 – 11lbs 0oz

06 Oct 2011 – 9lbs 6oz
27 Sep 2011 – 8lbs 8oz
17 Sep 2011 – 8lbs 11.5oz

Don’t let Jamie tell you anything different but she has waited her whole life for moments like this!

We went to the Salt Cellar for lunch on Sunday and at a huge meal each but then went into the playbarn next door and took it in turns to chase after Reagan. We both went home lighter than we were on Sunday morning, jeez she is fast and has a never ending supply of energy

He is such a different baby to just a week ago even but vastly different from 2 weeks ago last night was another good sleeping night for all of us and although I am again sat downstairs allowing Jamie some rest he is asleep next to me happy and that means a lot to me and mommy.

Last night while mommy and Reagan did bath time I sat downstairs and played with Lincoln and again as yesterday morning he was interacting with me smiling and talking which made me beam, and I wished mommy was here to see it. I didn’t call her because Reagan is as important and I could hear them splashing around in the bath but for me it’s what I have been waiting for, a time when Lincoln is happy away from mommy so I can spend some playtime with him on my own.

I believe I do this well and although I love tiny babies I get more from this stage onwards…!

Jamie called me at work very weepy and upset to tell me she had lost her phone, its an expensive item but easily replaceable and in the big scheme of things something her or me should never worry about. Its annoying and an expense we could do without right now but its only money…

The reason she was upset was she had 100’s of photos on it of the kids and they are irreplaceable

Now I know I saved all of her photo’s to one of the computers a week orso ago but at the moment I haven’t had chance to look through all the folders to find them but I will and we will find that the vast majority of them are safe but she is still upset that some are gone

We’ll get her a new phone probably better than mine…phone jealousy can tear family’s apart dude (lol)… and she’ll start again and we’ll forget about it but I reckon she will backup up more regularly from now on

It does prove how important it is to back up regularly and I’m sure all of you reading this probably don’t so have a think about what would happen if you lost, for example, the one copy of the BEST photo you have of your wife, husband, freind or as in our case some random photos of the kids? Blackberry desktop software is easy to install and after that you just plug your phone into you computer every morning and it backs up for you while you brew up, it might be worth sticking a DVD into your computer and burning a copy of them too. (it also clever enough to be able to do more than one phone) If you need assistance send me a message

Jamie’s friend Kerry invited all the children to a halloween fancy dress party so we rang Grandma and asked her to send us a unique costume for Reagan that no-one else would have and Reagan loved it lol

The corner I think has been turned as we again had a pretty regular night although he was a little more fussy than previous nights which kept mommy awake a little more than she’d like but I am taking him at 6ish giving her some quality rest which as she says “gets her through the day.

This morning I put him down on the sofa and he slept for 45 minutes without a murmur and when he woke we had a 20 minutes interaction time where he was interested in me and smiling and he even tried to talk, something he has done with mommy but this was the first time for me. Alright we were not chatting about footy or anything but he was making sounds that were not crying and in reaction to what I was doing…it was fantastic!

Tonight was a good night, we put Reagan to bed and went downstairs so Jamie could feed Lincoln whilst watching X-Factor and I went to the kitchen to cook the two steaks I bought in town earlier. We sat and ate our steaks and washed them down with some red wine and all the while Lincoln slept. Afterwards Jamie drifted off to sleep along with Lincoln again and thats the last I remember until 2am

Lincoln and Jamie went to bed leaving me asleep on the chair (nothing to do with the red wine we had with our steak tonight) and I followed at around 02:15

We were up feeding and winding but thats regular baby stuff not desperate in pain feeding constantly up all night as it had been. We talked briefly as I took him downstairs that this is exactly how it was with Reagan with Jamie doing the lions share of work during the night and me taking over early morning….maybe the medicine has helped us turn the corner and Lincoln has become a regular baby and not in pain
