I love this picture not because me dad thought a photo of Granddad Son and Grandson would be a good photo but because Reagan steels the show in the foreground lol!
Lincoln in full ‘Don Corleone’ pose
Lincoln is so much better since seeing the consultant and having his meds changed, although the transition between stopping one med and starting two more proved the meds are doing a job and he has not grown out of ‘reflux’ just yet!
The days are great mommy says and I have to agree when home at the weekends he is playful when awake, still loves his mommy’s milk and sleeps really well in between but the nights are a bit of an issue? He goes to bed after bathtime and takes a little coaxing to settle and can scream blue murder for a few minutes before he drops off to sleep. After this you can leave him sleeping in his bed but at 20:50ish he always wakes, we do not know why but sometimes he soothes himself back to sleep and other times he needs coaxing again back to sleep after this he is good until 23:30 or even past midnight on a good day but then after that he is very fussy for the rest of the night!
This means mommy doesn’t really get a good nights sleep at all trying to keep him asleep, somewhat guiltily I do sleep through because she is so good at not allowing him to really scream the place down. At the moment as we did this morning we find me taking him downstairs at around 04:00 means mommy can recharge and I can usually get a little more sleep before 07:30…
We spent Sunday evening wrapping presents to send off to Santa but I had to assemble a “Smart Tryke” first before we could let Santa have it which would have been a task if sober but having just come back from the pub it was even more of a brain teaser.
Once released from Santa’s grip Reagan was back to her excited and inquisitive self:
Today we carried on the tradition for Reagan and began the tradition for Lincoln of going to see Santa the week before Christmas to let him know we are waiting for him and maybe mention a couple of “would likes” if it not too much trouble Santa. The following photos are all we took of the experience and tell the story better than I could in words. I will say though that they don’t show just how hard Reagan was gripping me when we tentatively approached him or how excited she was before and immediately after we met him?
Lincoln on the other hand did sneakily manage to whisper to Santa a whole list of things he wanted and maybe next Sunday he might well get lucky with a couple of them. Who knows…? 😉
The new kid on the block is Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow who has turned Denver’s fortune around in the last 6 weeks after a somewhat mediocre (to put it politely!) start to the season, and as a christian he feels the need to pray at key points during a game and does so by getting down on one knee.
“TEBOWING” is ‘(vb) to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different’
Lincoln went to bed at 20:10ish a VERY tired boy but woke at around 20:50 but instead of dashing upstairs to comfort him we stayed downstairs saying we will allow him to cry for 10 minutes first!
After only 4 minutes he self soothed himself back to sleep, which doesn’t sound much but for Jamie and me it means he can first of all do it and secondly he isn’t uncomfortable he just woke up and needed to just go back to sleep? Maybe the new drugs are working now, I really hope so.
Mommy just gone bed at 23:50 and he is still asleep….YAY! Me, I have a sore throat and will sleep down here so I don’t wake anyone coughing a lung up?
Another good increase this week, you should be proud momma dude
