The following are my instruction from Mommy on caring for the kids while she is away in Manchester on her friend Sharon’s hen weekend:
Lincoln
MEDS domperidone 2.5mg upon waking, 1pm, right before his tea, and before his mid sleep feed. Omeperizole 2.5mg is right after tea.
FOOD Take 2 cubes of food out the freezer about 5 then at 6 put them in microwave for about 20 seconds and should be perfect. He can have a fruit pot (applesauce) at lunch time with Reagan
MILK human Milk is good for 24 hours but must stay refrigerated, cannot be microwaved so run under warm water to thaw:) when he wakes in the morning, a small feed after his nap, bigger feed (or rest of bottle about an hour later) cluster feeds in the afternoon then naps about 3 or 4ish?
SLEEP He goes quit grumpy about 9 or 10ish am so put him in his chair with dummy and he’ll sleep quite well:) he also has quite a good nap early afternoon and another at 3 opr 4?
Reagan
MEDS put her steroid cream on red bits at first day nappy change and when getting ready for bed.
SLEEP Has a sleep about 1-2 in the afternoon (reading is the only way now)
FOOD has a snack at 4pm (yogurt and raisins, or fruit cored and pealed and raisins whatever there are loads in the cuboard and fridge)
she has a biscuit and a drink midmorning
**if they need caplol Reagan is the big side of Lincoln is the small side of the spoon
As I am writing this we have just returned from a trip to the park and now Reagan is in bed and Lincoln is medicated and fed and should sleep soon.
So far so good?
After a couple of false starts where Jamie had to comfort him then Calpol him because of a suspected “TOOTH” that is on its way through Lincoln slept until 3:15 then again until 6:30 when he fed and then I got up with him. At some point we heard him crying but he went back to sleep. This is going well and both Mommy and me are really amazed.
Now let me draw your attention to one point in that nights description “TOOTH” yes its all going so well and mommy’s planning her little ‘trip’ away for the weekend with the girls and it’s going well, leaving me to look after the kids, and we’re amazed how well he’s doing and and and…….TOOTH!
Nooooooooooooooooooo NOT NOW?
Please!
How is sleeping through defined?
We put him to bed at 8 and although we saw the monitor lights at around 9 he actually woke for his first feed at just after 2 am which was just fantastic but then he went back to sleep and didnt wake again until 05:45
Now I know that’s not technically sleeping through but we’ll take that every night if we can! Watch this space.
Last night went very well, because Lincoln was at the other end of the room it was easier to let him cry and at 3am we allowed him to cry himself to sleep instead of Mommy feeding and it worked!
He slept from 8 till 12:30 then we let him cry around 3am and then he fed just before 5. I got up with him just after 6am so all in all we have “moved on” but it was the first night?
Lincoln’s sleeping is improving all the time and it is time to move him on, to his own room if we had one but for now to be fair to Reagan we are going to move our bed away from the window and put the cot there distancing us or more to the point mommy from him so we can try letting him cry a little in the night. Hopefully he will learn to self soothe back to sleep through the night as he already does between bedtime at 8 until we go to bed around midnight.
We think if he does well at this then he can join Reagan in their room
This weekend Lincoln found he has a tongue and now sticks it out all the time blowing raspberries with it too. He looks like a lizard sticking it in and out because its quite a big tongue I liken it to a roll of stair carpet…? LOL
He won’t need a chat up line when he’s older, he can just stand at the end of the bar licking his eyebrows hahahaha
Jamie had invites lots of friends to join her at a new Mexican Restaurant in town for her birthday and we had a great night…
For Mommy’s birthday we decided to see if Reagan liked bowling…not only did she like it she slaughtered us at it. How embarrassing!
