Bank Holiday Sunday was planned a while back, we had decided to go for a walk and Jamie asked me to look in the “All Terrain Pushchair walks” book we were given. I saw an old favourite “Teggs Nose” in Macclesfield, a walk I did on occasion with Jack so I knew the way there and the around SIMPLE?

We got there and immediately decided it would be easier without the pushchair so set off down towards the reservoir after walking for over an hour we eventually reached “Teggs Nose” and I had doubted Reagan could get back up to where the car was parked a lot during the descent but at the bottom I said first of all Reagan won’t get back up to the car because she is tired and bored now, secondly who ever rated that walk as a pushchair walk was a fool!

So I volunteered to walk briskly back up to the car and drive back to pick them all up, which I did. The ascent was LUNG BUSTING and the drive was difficult because it all looks different from the roads in a car and it took me a while to find them but find them I did.

All in all it was a lovely day for a walk and we all enjoyed ourselves so a success

Bank Holiday weekend begins with an early morning wake up at around 3am with Lincoln screaming the place down so much that even Reagan is disturbed when he and a Police helicopter above the house shattered the silence (it wasn’t the noise police after Lincoln luckily!) we all got back to sleep around 4am and when I heard the kids chirping at 7:15 I decided I should get up and give Mommy a chance to lie in.

Big mistake, I walked in to the cherubs bedroom and was greeting with two smiling faces and “that” odour! Its usually Lincoln so I let Reagan slide down the stairs on her “butt” as mommy has taught her, and thats when I realised that Lincoln didn’t smell…!

Nooooooo!

Even the thought of what Reagan had just done to the contents of her nappy filled me with dread, and the task that lay ahead. By the time I got to the living room she had assumed the position on the floor and was waiting for dad to change her nappy! All I will say is I did Lincoln first trying to prolong my imminent fate but he wasn’t to be out done as he gave a little shiver as I removed his nappy and proceeded to piss on my leg, cheers Lincoln.

It was not good oh my goodness it was everywhere, but contained which was a miracle. I just rolled me sleeves up and dived in (so to speak) Now anyone who says wipes are expensive and you should use just one or two per nappy change is talking “shit”…. literally! This was a 10 to 15 wiper and I am not ashamed to admit it, I would like to see someone clean that up with 2 frickin’ wipes Sorry Reagan if you’re reading this as an adult lol!

Anyway we sorted the situation and went to have breakfast during which Lincoln’s bottle of milk worked him and as I ate me cheerio’s I could hear him straining like a good un to the side of me so I chose not to look or breathe in and cracked on with me breakfast as a solitary tear rolled down my cheek….

Mommy came home with a toothbrush for Lincoln yesterday which we used to clean both his teeth lol Mommy thinks of everything and will always make sure both kids are healthy

This is Reagan watching her “second” favourite telly show GIGGLEBELLIES! I think its cutely funny how she sort of knows the songs…

Tonight Lincoln started clapping along to Gigglebellies while he and Reagan sat on mommys knee, and apparently this is quite advanced to be clapping at 31 weeks….ADVANCED That’s my boy!

Its Sunday morning and mommy is still in bed and I am sat watching my two children grow up before my eyes…Lincoln is crawling around the living room exploring all things he can now reach and Reagan is sitting reading the Matalan catalogue wow’ing at all the shoes?

Never ever thinking I would be a daddy I am completely bowled over at how happy they make me feel every single day!

Jamie pointed at the number on the front of Reagan’s nappy and asked her What number is that and she sat there and said “Five”

WOW!

I could not believe she knew it was a 5 So mommy got one of Lincoln’s nappy out and asked her what the number was on the front of it and she thought for a moment and said “Four”

WOW!

We are in so much trouble with her if she is this intelligent a week before her second birthday she’ll be running rings around us soon if she isn’t already…?

Mommy went out to her book club tonight I think its more of a chance for “the girls” to have an adult conversation without the kids biting at their heels and I have to say that going by what Jamie talks to me about, it’s much needed.

Jamie loves our children more than anything in the world but she needs a break from them if only at the end of the day when we sit and chill in front of the telly but given the chance a night away from us all is exactly what the doctor ordered

No:1 I watched my son crawl on Sunday and I have been willing him on for 2 weeks but actually seeing hi do it just filled me with a lovely warm feeling that can only be described as the proudest dad in the world. Squeezing him gently just didn’t seem enough but I think he knew i was proud of him.

No:2 LOL Should have probably been number 1 because Reagan having wee in her potty for the very first time is technically not a number 2. Unfortunately I was running an errand and missed her first potty success but if anyone had asked me a couple years ago, do you think you could ever feel pride if someone went for a wee I would have to say they were mad, but I was not only sad to have not been there but as proud as I could possibly be when I heard what she’d done and grabbed her when I did return home and really hugged her and told her how proud I was. The little smile she gave because she knew why she was being congratulated made me melt even more.

No:3 Jamie never lets me down, ever when it comes to making me proud but I know going back to school has been something she has always talked about doing so it was no surprise to me when she said I want to sign up for an Open University BA Honours Childhood and Youth studies to which I said just do it there is no need to ask because I know you will do it and do it well so get it sorted pay the money and we will back you all the way. Jamie rang me today as I drove down the M56 at 69.5 mph to screach that she is now a student and will be for the next 6 years and I can honestly say I got the same feeling of pride at that moment as I did for No:1 and No:2. I know that she will excel at her chosen subject and Reagan Lincoln and me will watch her graduate in a few years all feeling that same pride I felt today

I did get a wierd thought that my whole family are doing stuff to be proud of and all I was doing was gesticulating to a petrol tanker driver for merely considering striking last week but I snapped out of it when i realised how lucky I was to have such a fantastic family that I can be so proud of…
