Breaking mums heart

I met my cousin this morning and he told me news I knew would break me mums heart but once he told me I knew I couldn’t not let her know.

At Christmas, Mum and me got talking about the fact she doesn’t see many people and mentioned Rick who she misses and Fred and June, who she has been freinds with for years but after retiring and especially once Pot bank club closed, she basically saw them in Asda if she was lucky. She said she wondered what they were up to and if they were ok but as she said just doesn’t see anyone to find out…

Russell told me this morning that unfortunately Fred had passed away just before Christmas but not only that June’s dementia is so severe that since he passed away she doesn’t remember him and has gone into a home in Elworth unable to look after herself…

She rang me later to tell me that there was more bad news. Auntie Margerie had passed away this afternoon, not the greatest day in my life but I can’t imagine how difficult all that news must have been for me mum to hear?

Making it good

I have mentioned that I am building a bench and I am enjoying the journey but although I know what I want to achieve, with no plans just ideas off YouTube I have made a couple of mistakes which are not catastrophic but annoying and takes time to work through and put right.

Scored 180 today not unusual, I am getting better the more I practice but this one was unique. I was in me shed doing a bit of woodworking and as I very often do at certain times just retrieve me darts and just throw a few to rake a break from what I am doing. I challenge myself to hit a target before I can stop throwing and get back to what I was doing, like hit a treble 20 hit a bull go round the board on doubles etc. Anyway this afternoon at one of those breaks I thought, hit a treble 20 before carrying on, which I did first dart then threw 2 more, a 180 with me first 3 darts. I just left them in the board and went back to building my bench, it just won’t get better than that so why try lol

I threw more darts later on and was OK but never really reach the heights of earlier…

Watched Ronnie O’Sullivan beat Ally Carter in the Snooker Masters and thought is there a more talented or gifted sports star?

Does it get better than living my life, we could all think of things we want to do that we maybe can’t afford or find time for but taking Reagan to horse riding going to the Lumber yard buy wood going home and spending all afternoon cladding the end of me shed then sitting down to a meal cooked by Jamie and relaxing until bedtime will do!

Lincoln had friends around in the afternoon for a game of Dungeons and Dragons and they were really great Reagan joined in but D&D is not her thing but was content to be part of the parrifary.

It’s not for everyone but I like my life…

Sharing a brain

Jamie took Reagan and Lincoln to Altrincham for an ice skating lesson after work leaving me to realise I have made a huge mistake in my bench building project which will now take a total rethink of what I want to achieve?

Ww sat down to watch the remaining three episodes of Mr Bates vs The Post Office while the children did their own thing occasionally just interupting us by joining us and talking with absolute disregard for what we were doing or watching just to tell us the single most important thing in their lives at that moment!

Reagan had apparently being procrastinating over perfume and face cream for 45 minutes and we had to pause the TV to hear about it? Lincoln is having friends over tomorrow for a Dungeons and Dragons afternoon tomorrow and made us pause the TV to explain this date that we already knew about.

The last two nights, Jamie and I have just said something without prompting at exactly the same time, jokes that we know the other would crack

Last night Lincoln left the living room after disturbing the programme we were watching to just talk at us about what he was doing just before he came into the room. As he left the room he said “Enjoy your show!” and in unison without prompting both Jamie and I said “We were!”

We just fell about laughing uncontrollably because it was the second time we’d done it this week, we just share a brain and it’s fantastically the best…!

Supermarket talk

Jamie said tonight that the best part about being in a relationship is going to the supermarket and chattering all the way around and arriving home not realising that you have just enjoyed completed the most mundane life task and enjoyed every leisurely moment of it.

She is right everything is easy and enjoyable when we do it together!

Waiting in a layby

Sat here waiting for Jamie’s train to arrive at Crewe Station 21:04 I could have let her get a taxi but that would have meant waiting at home an extra 30 mins before I see her and that just ain’t gonna happen, rather spend that time in the car with her. Kids are at home getting ready for bed, so I would just be downstairs not able to watch a show because I want to binge watch it together.

With a title like that I could have been dogging….

The Fizz

Water is the elixir of life and I need it every day but water is boring I just don’t enjoy drinking it, so add coffee and sugar Now fizzy water is far more interesting same thing but with something extra something that makes water interesting

Jamie is the fizz to my life, yeh it’s OK I love my life but when Jamieis not here it’s just life, but when she’s here life is just better, it’s far more fun and enjoyable

Remarkable love

A barometer of my love for Jamie is my unconscious conscious reaction to anything that makes her life anything but perfect. I don’t think about I just go into a “What can I do to help, how can I make this right?” I don’t have any other thoughts until things are sorted or all options to make it right are exhausted.

After dropping her at the train station I drove off sad but knowing I had done my bit only to get a pissed off WhatsApp message she’d forgotten her Remarkable2. As I played it on the car my mind immediately went to, how far away from home am I and if I could pick it up and start driving back to Crewe and if her train is delayed can I make it? There was nothing else on my mind until she told me it was not important enough to worry about it, and she would be ok.

I have these types of thoughts everyday and whether conscious or not I am always trying to be a step ahead paving the way for Jamie’s life to be as good as I can make it…

Cold wet & warm

Jamie took Reagan to horse riding and then went to swim in Pickmere Lake on a cold foggy morning, which I think is ‘kin’ madness but whatever….? I stayed home and worked on me bench in me shed where I have found that a little bit of gentle heat is retained for ages meaning I can comfortably work in there in any weather.

I took Lincoln to cricket nets after dinner which sort of scuppered my plans as when I returned, I had lost me enthusiasm

We built a fire later on, and one of us complained that they were cold and I was fine,wierd that!
