Sign of the times as I pottered in me shed, doing a little bit more on creating my first window, my phone rang it was Lincoln who had gone to Norman’s Wood on his bike. Dad I may have fallen off my bike and I am now bleeding from my elbows and knees, my immediate reply was where are you, to which he replied I am waking home. This meant he was well enough to do that, I asked if he had hit his head which was the correct question but I also knew he had left wearing my BMX crash helmet from back in the day, he said not anyway.
When he got home we quickly realised why he sounded OK because shock was holding it all together, he was shaking and laughing. His wounds were dirty and looked pretty bad but superficial so we told him to go shower and we’ll then know what to do. When he returned the elbows and knees weren’t as bad as they initially looked and germalene and a couple of plasters plus a couple of paracetamol and he was rest as..!
I did the very same if not worse on many occasions as a kid but thought nowt of it but when it’s my child all of a sudden its frightening?
