Today was a busy day from the moment I woke up to now lay here waiting for data to backup zipup and upload still working not living? You do these things to allow you to do the great things in life like taking Reagan to horse riding then walking around Shaking the Mirror with Billy before picking her up again. We do them so that on Thursday I can go watch Lincoln’s last sportsday at Middlewich Primary

I’m sure I give more than I take so I should never feel guilty for taking a bit back!

Sign of the times as I pottered in me shed, doing a little bit more on creating my first window, my phone rang it was Lincoln who had gone to Norman’s Wood on his bike. Dad I may have fallen off my bike and I am now bleeding from my elbows and knees, my immediate reply was where are you, to which he replied I am waking home. This meant he was well enough to do that, I asked if he had hit his head which was the correct question but I also knew he had left wearing my BMX crash helmet from back in the day, he said not anyway.

When he got home we quickly realised why he sounded OK because shock was holding it all together, he was shaking and laughing. His wounds were dirty and looked pretty bad but superficial so we told him to go shower and we’ll then know what to do. When he returned the elbows and knees weren’t as bad as they initially looked and germalene and a couple of plasters plus a couple of paracetamol and he was rest as..!

I did the very same if not worse on many occasions as a kid but thought nowt of it but when it’s my child all of a sudden its frightening?

An invitation to an open house from a new neighbour always fills me with dread and this evening after picking up Jamie from the station we agreed that we would go for a short time and use the fact that she’d beenaway all week as an excuse to leave. We got home and after a quick turn around we headed down the road to be greeted by Shirley with the party in full swing, though a typical garden party we all soon started mingling.

It was not too long before I realised it was infact Shirley Stromg Olympic silver medal winner at 100m hurdles. Not sure I would have recognised her without a prompt from the lady I was talking to at the time but quickly pointed out that I once sat next to her in 1985 when she visited Middlewich Comprehensive School promoting athletics.

Strong Silver Medal Winner 1984 LA

Not sure why or what I was thinking about in last night’s blog but tonight it was all about a friend I have known for many years and who’s company I absolutely love!

I have never been able to easily make new friends, I think I make a good friend but it takes me so much luck and effort to make new one? Not sure why but I have always been like that?

As I sat watching Lincoln play cricket tonight knowing there was so much work I needed to do it was crushing me but when I got home I just couldn’t do it I just couldn’t go to work. Family came first and tomorrow will have to wait

Watching videos of the babies

The morning after or as I like to call it Monday and it was annoying that it was only just Friday but we all made through having a great time at Middlewich FAB Fest. Kids wwre fine and getting on with their Mondays as we were surviving summer.

I sat out on the garden in the warm evening air with a beer listening to my new SONOS speaker and it was just ace, a really good sound. I was happy because I was relaxed after finishing work and listening to Test Match Special and England doing really well in the last half hour of play at Edgbaston

I am living such a wonderful life I really can not complain, I certainly do not need a special day to realise how much I am loved but today breakfast in bed a hand made card from both Reagan and Lincoln who also gave me a brass dog figurine from the FAB weekend which was all great then I was presented with a SONOS roam speaker just for being their dad?

To say I was blown away would understate my emotion because I don’t want or need anything but I absolutely love it I really do. I spent the whole day listening to Test Match Special plus once that ended a medley of choonage playing darts, waiting for my special tea “gammon egg and chips”

Simply the best!

We have had glorious weather for the past couple of weeks and worked through most of it, so to see it start to rain today was so frustrating. We did not let it deter us and left for town anyway and that desision was justified when the sun shone and we had a great day out!
