Training camp started this week at Dove Valley and finally there is something to actually talk about and I find myself sat here listening to a Mile High podcast discussing the pressers I watched live earlier. Sean Payton is so refreshing to listen to and just seems to have it all together taking no shit from anyone I just hope that togetherness and professionalism is also portrayed on the field too!

Mommy Daddy I sold an item on Vinted, I sold a cardigan for a pound! That sounds so simple to me when I type it but let’s look at what just happened, my 13 year old daughter has set up a Vinted account advertised some clothes and sold an item, then packaged it up took it to Tesco express in town and sent it to the buyer. All this on her own just using her initiative that blows me away, how clever she is

Now that’s a proud dad moment ?

As always there is a mountain of washing after camping and the weather when I woke up was wet after alot of over night rain so although I could wash everything getting it dry was going to be impossible.

Typically for an English summer the day just got better and better and by the time I finished work I had everything done and was able to mow the lawn cook tea and wash up so all in all it turned out a good day

Time to head home and although it was still raining it was brightening up but we did not have to pack away wet tents at last an advantage of Glamping so we headed out and the plan was to stop on the way home for lunch but it needed to be far enough away to be dinner time when we arrived. Everyone agreed on Elsmere Mere where we had a wander around the Mere and ate at the Boat House Inn which I would recommend apart from the wasps haha

All in all a great first Glamping trip…but it is still camping!

Glamping is still camping, and as we sat in the ‘communal area’ having breakfast, Reagan looking through the pamphlets provided suggested King Arthur’s Laberynth 45 minutes away. This was deemed a good shout, and we arrived there an hour or so later after everyone was ready. Rain never ceased, and I was hoping that there would be some cover when we got there and the caves were not flooded, meaning our trip was wasted.

On arriving at the Labrrynth, the road was blocked by a filled tree branch too big to drag but annoyingly also too big to pass. In comes two guys with hand saws who make short work of the smaller branches and quickly reduce it to a manageable size to drag out of the way helped in no way by the guy who bounced up wielding a fucking pen knife ?

There was lots to do candle making wood working all sorts of craft while we waited to explore the caves which were great and a perfect way to spend a wet day in Wales. All the kids enjoyed themselves and were suitably entertained, allowing the adults to cook tea and get drunk later without them moaning too much.

Rude Chinese whispers was a great family end to the day and it was fantastic to sit around laughing and joking with kids and grownups before going to bed, something Billy chose to do earlier of his own volition probably thinking ball throwing was over no point hanging around so I am going to bed

So a momentous occasion today our youngest child left Primary school for the the last time bringing to an end that chapter of our lives. Lincoln was sad aswell as many of his friends but it was also a happy time too finishing school for the summer, yes there’s apprehension about the future but for now after hugs and tears we said goodbye to MPS and the teachers and we set off for Wales for a couple of days “Glamping”

We didn’t need much because its not camping so no roof box and plenty of room in the car? Not so fast buster we still need Billy and the kitchen sink so we squeezed in and drove, to Llanidloes.

We arrived to find three Yerts (Teepee) which looked really “Glam” and there was a seating well stocked so when we got a take away there was proper plates and cutlery. We had really good evening drinking with Kate and Chris while the kids loved being outdoors and it was nearly midnight before we retired.

The beds were ok as was the whole experience so far but as we lay there contemplating going to the toilet as the rain hammered the tent we looked at each other and said “it’s still camping!”

Reagan finished year 8 today and drifted off into her summer break spending the afternoon in town with her mates. From what little we heard from the school, she is excelling throughout but she is struggling a little with the unwanted trolling by a certain girl in her year who has chosen to try making Reagan and her bezzys life uncomfortable with text messages and offensive graffiti so I hope the next six weeks serves to break that cycle and most importantly give Reagan a well deserved break to rest up and go again.

Lincoln has one day left in Middlewich Primary School and he is upset at the thought of ‘never’ going back to the place he has grown up at and made friendships that will last the rest of his life. He is struggling to process that huge change that is about to happen when he goes back to school everything will be different. We know he will be fine we know he will move on and he won’t even realise its happening but tonight he cried and wanted to know if he could go back and let them know he was OK and doing fine!

He played probably the last game of the season for SandbachCC U11s it was a mixed bag tonight away at Wistaston, creamed for four of his first ball but took 2 wickets in his second over. Couple of good shots and picked off a couple of runs batting but run his mate out….Sandbach U11s won so not worry but he was gutted about the run out.

On the way home I educated him on the difference between the album and live version of Too Much To Young and the latter is now added to his playlist

We are preparing to go glamping tomorrow as soon as he gets home from school tomorrow but for now we’ll concentrate on navigating the endings first?

We lost tonight at pool 9 1 you have to take a loss like that no point in crying

Jamie Achieving her Acreditation was momentus but tempered by the fact that her job for the last 18 months sort of required it, so even though she has super excelled, she felt a bit of a fraud so lauding it on Facebook felt wrong

Reagan got chosen to watch a movie at school as an end of term treat ironically for good attendance when Lincoln was marked down for poor attendance and he went to school more than her?

Lincoln did the dishes, Mommy and Reagan left for the gym and I left to play pool leaving Lincoln alone so I said to him before I left be Mommy’s hero, wash the dishes. Don’t announce it just let her leave and once she’s gone do the dishes Mommy will love you like you’re a superstar

He carried out the instruction and Mommy was suitably impressed

We are going great right now with both children about to break for the Summer long may it continue

Jamie got the call tonight that she has worked so hard for over the last year or so and I am so FUCKING proud of her.

Bloody typical I feel ok today now I’m back at work, I do have a headache but not suffering the fatigue I have felt over the past couple of days. At work I was asked about a particular job that needed planning and it included working with ‘my nemasis’ not sure thats the best description but I bared my sole in the meeting telling that I don’t think I can work with him especially not in person pointing out that it is bad enough in vertual meetings where I can just turn it off. Once I started though I couldn’rt stop and just kept telling them of the the things that he does and how rude and patronising he is towards not just me but others also and even though they don’t say anything officially they think the same as me. They took it onboard, I think, and we will see I guess?
