Well nearly, barring setting the hinges not quite right I had a great day, which began with a walk after dropping Reagan off at horse riding. Mommy and me walked Billy around a wood she found last week in Alastock and rounded that off with a full English breakfast at the farm shop.

The rest if the day I spent in my shed finessing my window frames routering all the edges which just makes it look great before attempting to set the hinges on one of the openings which didn’t quite go perfectly. The hinges I chose do not have any adjustment and although I marked them accurately the drill moved slightly on a k ot on one of the 3 frame hinge holes making it sit high and bind in the top of yhe frame. A job for another day to sort that out but certainly a VERY productive day otherwise

Mommy leaves on Wednesday morning to firstly work in London for a day before travelling to Denver for two weeks so spent the day cleaning g house with the kids and arranging a pizza making competition, which I won, for tea. She also planned a family film evening too but I was snoring before the opening credits had finished, but I was there in spirit.

All in all a perfect day?

Reagan’s first love asked her out yesterday and that is a big thing at 13 a boy actually saying he has feelings for you, and that he would like to be boyfriend and girlfriend. What that means is down to interpretation on both parties and something to negotiate at 13 years old but it didn’t feel right for Reagan and after asking Mommy for advice decided to request that her and Joe remain just freinds for a while.

I have to say this made me feel proud in many ways not least that she felt able to discuss her trepidation with Mommy and work through her feelings and be able to navigate this situation in a grown up manner. Yes it will be dent on the books ego but if indeed he is worthy of my daughters attention and ultimately affection he will respect her desision and be able to continue their friendship as before, and maybe when she is ready benefit from being respectful of her?

I am proud of Reagan for this and for asking Mommy’s advice too, it will be a great relationship if she allows her Mom to help her through not only these formative years but her life going forward!

You say Foster, I say Forster
You say I’m growing up and I say please don’t!
Foster, Forster, up, down
Let’s call the whole thing off, yes

Joe is the one, the first… Reagan has been friends with Joe Foster and I have listened to them talking endlessly after school online and although I couldn’t hear what was being said but I’ve loved hearing her giggling and laughing

Apparently “EVERYONE” thinks they’re an item, when I say everyone I mean one of her bezzies noticed they seemed like best mates and questioned whether love was blossoming

She has asked Mommy about relationships and what it means to date someone and perfectly answered take it slow. It’s exactly what I was thinking but I was going to say “be freinds as long as you can and don’t move to first base until you have giggled together a thousand times!”

I love Reagan and hope she knows she is priceless worth more than any boy can possibly imagine and is able to realise that and always will!

Wow, live life happy was the advice I gave my mate this afternoon, but I feel such a failure actually as down as I have felt in a long time, and its because of a pool match?

It doesn’t help that Mike and Foz were not there tonight, my best freinds and although other mates were there they just left, no debrief no let’s have another drink and forget about it, just see you next week I’m not stopping to see the end of this shit show!

They would have stayed!

We expect a lot from Reagan and Lincoln from the big things like being a good person to the little things like tidying up after themselves but one of the rules of which there are few is DO NOT LIE because it will not be tolorated. This morning Lincoln got caught when leaving the house he had forgotten he had a Saxophone lesson so nipped back to get it, and because it meant he had a lot to carry Mommy and me tried to help him by sorting out his Sax, PE Kit and his school bag. As I took his school bag off his back with the intention of repacking it to fit his PE bag inside it, you could see him panick and snatch it back, which was odd and obvious that he was hiding something?

Rewind to earlier and I asked him if he was ready for school and if he had made his lunch, which he said that he had, which was great, so when we looked in his backpack there was a lunchbox with empty drink carton and sweet wrappers and a sandwich. He then said, that was what the sandwich he made earlier but his story unravelled prtetty quickly after that because the snacks and the stuff he really likes were not packed. It turns out that was yesterdays uneaten sandwich and he had not made his lunch, so was trying to lie to get out of the lie earlier, I told him to stop as the hole he was in was just getting bigger.

Cornered he admitted he was lying and could see how upset were about it, the main this was to get him a lunch packed and out of the door but there is a question why he had not eaten his lunch yesterday because for a boy who is always hungry this is concerning. Tears were rolling down his cheeks now and it was time for school so we got him out of the door saying that we are here to help if High School is getting too much in a morning or if there was a problem we are will always be here to help but don’t lie to us, that is worse than anything else and will not be tolorated!

Mommy finally got home from London at 9pm having suffered train cancellations at Euston but cushioned the blow by upgrading to First Class and was escorted to the lounge to be wined and dined while they sorted out a train for her to take. The only disappointment after that was getting on a train that was also cancelled and had to walk with the minions to get on a third train which eventually got her back to Crewe. First class meant they looked after her for the whole journey and after listening to a seasoned traveller complaining and inquiring about refund options Mommy got on to the app and requested a refund.

Here is the next stroke of luck, because they hadn’t scanned her ticket it gave her a full refund, so now she was on a train in First Class with no ticket but they knew she belonged there so no point buying the same ticket again might aswell just buy a cattle class ticket from Birmingham just to get past the admin at Crewe.

We just want her home but if she can get here in First Class for £30 even if she ended up 2 hours later than planned!

Tomorrow I ring the glazers, exciting?

Having ploughed through the second stage of fra.ing the windows since Thursday I am now at the point of needing to order glass because it will hold me up in a week or twos time if it takes ages to make?

I think I could not have picked two better children both make me proud but today was Lincoln’s 12th birthday and like a teenager in training he was still asleep at 9am showing no signs of waking up, with everyone downstairs waiting for him. While Reagan cooked some pancakes and Mommy cooked the bacon I went to wake the birthday boy and play the birthday song, and it wasn’t long before he was opening presents of which he had many. VR headset upgrade, carry case squishmellows, Lego, cricket book, cash five nights of Freddy Jamas and figures to name just a few. After breakfast Mommy took them both to church for a birthday morning while I took Billy and went to the supermarket freeing up Mommy’s afternoon.

Mommy had been in London Friday and barring her son’s birthday weekend might have stayed down there because she was due to work down there tomorrow but after consulting Lincoln decided to travel back down south late this afternoon. She arrived safely having upgraded to premium, for free, on the way down there and then finding she had booked her room twice but luckily did not have to pay which would have been costly!

Nannie Uncle Karl and Auntie Karen came over for a couple of hours and we sang happy birthday and Linco blew the candles out, it was lovely to have them around and celebrate with a brew and some chocolate cake but it was brought to an end as the Reagan and Lincoln left for church.

I like being me and it makes life so much easier because Jamie loves me as I am she loves who I am so I just have to live, I never have to try, I just am!

Today we went to Chester for Lincoln’s birthday an Alcatraz escape room first up which we did not do so well on, struggling to solve the puzzles to unlock the combination locks taking too long to get them failing on the last one and ultimately failing to escape. We had fun trying but it is frustrating when they explain how close we were on some of the clues and how clueless we were on others. The Houdini rooms are within the amusement arcade and tenpin bowling alley complex so after spending time and money on the slots we met up with Jamie’s friend and her son Dan and had a game of bowling which I won obvs building up an appetite for Wagamama which was really good and filled everyone up to the brim before heading home.

Tonight Jamie told me she loves me and how funny I am but it’s lost on friends like Ang who misses most of my dry humour, which I am ok with because I pride myself on what I consider clever humour and it makes me laugh and if other get it great if they don’t heyho.

Before we went I got one window glued up and marked out and drilled all the pocket holes on the other window ready for gluing, but because there is a slight squareness issue on this one I decided to glue this one actually in the frame hoping that it will set perfectly as it needs to be rather than glue it out of the frame and hope it fits afterwards, we’ll see?

It’s Lincoln’s 12th birthday tomorrow and as they say where has that time gone?

It’s taken a while to get to the point where I am able to crack on and get a window made but the last couple of days I really got my head around what I need to do. Glue ups of the opening frames secured with pocket hole screws are going well, and it feels good to think if I can get some quality time over the weekend I could get the glue ups done?

Lincoln has his birthday party tomorrow afternoon so that scuppers most of tomorrow but I have one batten left to secure on one window, so that’s my aim in the morning.

Speaking of Lincoln he arrived home late from school because he has lost his PE kit, and it’s only week two? I tore a strip off him when he got home because we specifically told him to look after his kit and not lose it!

Mommy asked Reagan to order tea from the Chinese restaurant in town tonight because she was still on the train back from London, Reagan absolutely loved that responsibility and absolutely loves spending money she was very enthusiastic about coming with me to pick it up and went in on her own to get it. She wants to be grown up so bad I can see her changing every day.
