2022

Such a disappointing day I started this morning thinking today was the day I fit a lock on my shed door and get that finally finished so that I have a secure building but although I got close, unfortunately it wasn’t to be. It took lot of time to get the latch fitted because during the building if the door I did not take into account where the lock would be and there were 3 screws in the way which resulted in a blunt drill and a lot of fiddling to snap of the obstacles and make a route through the door for all the bolts but mid afternoon I was ready to fit the codelock.

It was at this point I realised that the bolts were not long enough to reach through my door, I can not tell you how gutted I was. I can get longer bolts and it will be right eventually but I thought it was going to be today….!

Looking forward to spending the day shedding Mommy called from her Slimming World class to say Reagan needs a COVID vaccination to travel to Spain later this week? A couple of things I need to mention here Jamie has planned a family holiday to Seville for 5 days and we leave on Thursday and the fact that Reagan is 12 the Spanish require her to be vaccinated so the call was a panicked one.

Mommy’s plan was to take Reagan to get holiday nails while dropping Lincoln off at his mate’s house who’s birthday it was and was having a go kart party, but now I was taking Lincoln allowing Mommy to find a walk in Vaccination centre.

So I dropped off Lincoln to go racing karts and then went to get food for Billy, steaks for tea and coal for the fire before getting back to my shed.

Mommy and Reagan got £10 nails and regretted buying cheap because they unfortunately got £10 nails that will require replacing before Thursday! They also got to the Vacc Centre just as they ran out of vaccines…another panicked call and a quick Google and a divert to Timperley and a sore arm for Reagan

Before our steak tea I found myself throwing darts in a shed with a roof and two wall insulated and tidy all in all a good day!

Bought a lot of materials and it’s the weekend I’m thinking get it installed and then I can start making the window, which I am now looking forward to building because I got it right in my head. AutoCad is an amazing tool and I love being able to work through the project and all its stages first before actually picking up a tool or buying any materials.

Took delivery of 5 sheets of 50mm Celotex insulation board and spent an hour fitting some and already you can feel the difference, with only half the roof done. Also bought 3 sheets 9mm hardwood ply to cover the roof insulation but will fill any gaps in the insulation with expanding foam and create a foil moisture barrier with foil tape before installing the ply. Once completed there should not be any George Raft from the eves and the roof will be complete!

Lincoln was chilling waiting to go to school but didn’t have his jumper on which I wasn’t happy with because he had been under the weather for the last couple of days and it was cold on my walk earlier so I asked him to put it on. He got it out of his bag creased to buggery so because I was stood ironing a shirt I told him to give it to me and started ironing it but it was covered in mud, why didn’t you give it to me yesterday I would have washed and dried it? I didn’t think!

I’d already put a load of washing in this morning and it occurred to me that I had not seen any school uniform so I inspected the trousers he was wearing and they too literally COVERED in mud Jeezus Lincoln you are so lazy, you can not go to school like that. I wash clothes everyday there is no reason you qould ever need to leave the house in dirty clothes!

He was embarrassed but that does not get away from the fact that he would have gone to school in yesterday’s clothes with mud all over them.

We got him out of the door in clean shirt trousers and jumper, although it was last years jumper which was let’s just say a bit snug but he was presentable

I know boys will be boys but he would hate it if he got the nickname Stinky Lincy or worse and I would be ashamed too just because he doesn’t like having a bath or too lazy to put dirty clothes in the basket or find clean ones to put on!

Life for Reagan is very cushy because she believes the world revolves around her and that is affirmed by everyone jumping to her tune. Take this morning for instance, her freind from up the road is always outside our house at 8:20 and waits for her I do not recall Reagan ever standing at the end of the drive for him, so this morning at 19 minutes past both Mommy and me told her what time it was and that she she get up and go to school, but in her usual I know best way she said that she was fine because she was ready and sat there for another minute before getting up. After reading out what lessons she had today she left at 8:21 to meet her friend and walk to school.

12 minutes later a WhatsApp message informs us that she has forgotten her PE Kit and begging anyone who will listen to bring it to school for her which I am sure one of us will do without any appreciation because there is never any consequence for her.

Take the Mommy falling down Reagans stairs carrying all the the crockery that Reagan had festering in her room because she couldn’t be bothered to bring it down her self. Now I don’t blame her for Mommy falling, that was an accident, but if just once she had brought stuff down when asked Mommy would not have had to try and carry so many things down for her? Luckily Mommy was battered but not broken but Reagan was never reprimanded?

At the weekend Mommy said yes to a couple of friends coming over and took her shopping for all manner of Halloween stuff to make it a party and allow Reagan to look great infront of her mates but that wasn’t enough she asked to turn it into a sleepover. The thing was she asked, stood in front of both me and Mommy with her freind stood next to her which backed us in to a corner! Yes we could have said no, I certainly could have flown off the handle I was so mad but I would have ruined her night in front of her mates so I didn’t. Neither of us mind a planned sleepover and I know Mommy would rather that than have them wandering the streets over the next few years but its the sense of privilege Reagan has that no matter what she does the is never any consequences.

If we do impose any sanctions it’s because we hate her and don’t want her to be happy, but what about me Mommy and Lincoln’s happiness why should we play what she wants play or put away her clothes aswell as our own because we get fed up of asking her or clearing up her mess aswell as our because she can’t be bothered.

Teamwork only succeeds if everyone pulls together but for now Mommy will take her PE Kit to school once again bailing her out!

N.B. We used to have to do PE, in kit out of lost property or if you didn’t want to do that you did it in your undies. Not sure it would be allowed now but you didn’t forget your kit after one of those lessons because it taught you a lesson!

After work I went out to me shed to throw a few darts and noticed it was pretty cold in there but what made it worse was the draft blowing through the eves and it made me think I need to get at least the roof insulation installed ASAP which would alleviate that?

The lock for the door is also annoying me because I can’t find exactly what I want because I am not sure what I actually want, but my temporary rope lock keeps it shut for now!

As for the darts not great, I love throwing em but they’re not going quite where I want them to go although I am not that far off…practice will make me better!

We were asked if it was OK if Reagan had a couple of friends over for a Halloween party and Mommy obliged by not only saying yes but also laid on a great night including food films scary haunted house and a candy hunt with clues. Below are the clues to a haunted candy hunt

Reagans room
Ghouls and goblins will use their forces
To lead you where there maybe horses
Sit at the desk and spin round One 80
search down low to find something tasty

The bins
Lots of candy can be gotten
Where throw away items are rotten
You wheelly must, try to find the stash
But be careful as you Sift through trash

Lincolns Room
This is a place that you sleep way up high
But that is not where the candy will spy
Try under the desk where you’ll find the hiders
But be carfeful that you don’t touch any spiders

Bathroom
Getting clean or taking a poop
Will give you a clue where you must snoop
If you are clever and try to think
Look to your right as you are making a stink

Living Room
Watching and listening is done in this room
The speakers create a terrible boom
when sat on the sofa things may transpire
Candy might be found hogging the fire

Kitchen
In here you Mommy may cook up a broth
and very occasionally set fire to a cloth
Be carful where Billy at night takes a snooze
The Candy may lay in very smelly shoes

Unfortunately we were contacted to see if we could keep Gabe and Charlotte as their Grandad was probably going to pass away and this turned out to be correct, so we looked after them until their parents were able to take them back at dinnertime today, after which we went to Malpas Pumpkin patch a Forster tradition now. We had a great afternoon picking some great punkins had a ball in the corn maize and Billy loved it too

Even managed a couple of hours in me shed when we got home watching Giants v Packers and then darts for an hour, all in all a good weekend!

What relaxes me, woodworking definitely because it takes me away from work and that’s good but it also might be darts? I have always loved throwing darts and since Jamie bought me my own board for my shed I have started throwing again and I love it!

I am very rusty and for some reason it makes my arm hurt below the shoulder on top of my bicep on the outside and I am not sure why? There are many repetitive things I do with my right arm that don’t make it ache at all?

The struggle to find joy everyday is simple enough to resolve e it just takes thought and effort, but once I concentrate I can lift my mood. Today I should have steered clear of sending emails because some were sarcastically worded and not becoming of the model emoyee I aim to become from now on. Everything just pissed me off today and it was a trudge to get to the weekend.

The Broncos were awful last night against the Colts who were the worst team we have played yet we were worse and it’s frustrating to watch especially when kick off is 01:15am. So my day was slow to get going as well but I decided to cook a curry for mi e and Jamie’s tea which took my mind off things and with Reagan at Nannies I just got Linco a pizza and he was sorted.

Finished the day of watching a dramatisation of the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmers life and was able to make it to bedtime with a smile on my face…because spending time with Jamie makes me happy, not because watching serial killers kill fills my heart with joy!

Tomorrow is Saturday and I would love to spend the majority of it pottering hopefully in my shed
