Heating woes on the horizon

Annoyingly the fan on the boiler is making a noise and that is never good because it should not make any noise really so there’s trouble ahead, and the most annoying thing is I had kept a couple of grand by that I’d earned from my jobs on the side because when we first put the heating on a couple of months ago the fan did make a similar noise but once it had run for a few minutes the noise went away and it had not made a noise since so because it was sat there doing nothing last week I decided to use some of it to tidy up some of the debt we have so that we could focus on the larger debts which was a great idea until today!

So if it broke today I know we would cope and to be fair it would not owe us anything being probably 10 years old and second-hand when we got it the last time we had heating problems when the kids were really small but it would always be better if we could plan to replace the boiler and maybe move it under the stairs in the spring when the Christmas pinch is a distant memory and our wages were steady again but that is just not how life is! I am not worried about it I am even thinking how we could automate \ make the heating smart but unfortunately that might take a little longer if the boiler breaks before the “steadying” occurs!

January is a cold month lets hope the noise goes away [rolls eyes]

Frustrations

Life is pretty good at the moment Reagan and Lincoln are doing well at school and seem happy with life, Mommy is crushing working at LWC coming top on conversions after doing 2 talks last weekend beating everyone by almost 50% and more. My job is so frustrating nowadays with VetPartners now owning The Willows and seemingly taking all the things I have been responsible for over the last 10 years upto York which would leave me with very little to do and while this is happening they want me to help them organise them to move all my responsibilities. I loved my job but I am just watching it all disappear

Superwoman

Superwoman to us, superwoman all rolled in to one and we love her, it is also her birthday today so we made her breakfast in bed and gave her cards and presents before she had to work all day. Tonight we went out to the Fox and Hounds for a meal which was really lovely and really fun too with lots of laughs

Card room green?

Jamie finished the Cappuccino Foam walls this morning while I went to work early so we were ready to slap some Card Room Green on to the feature wall when I got home!

Cutting in takes the time but its time worth spending because it makes the dark wall look spectacular next to the white ceiling and Cappuccino Foam walls

Jamie followed me across the feature wall with a roller filling in the middles but the first coat although dramatic absolutely needed a second coat because of the streakyness of the old light paint showing through where I’d cut in? The second coat went on like a dream and filled in all those imperfections making it look stunning even with out skirting boards in place yet

Put telly back up last jod today so that we can at least sit in the living room this week before new sofa arrives, but my intention this week is to sort the wiring out so we don’t have any visible when room is finished

Not Decorating…

Mommy was in London for her first time presenting at a LWC seminar and with two to do in a day she was understandably a bit nervous having to stand up infront of 40+ people per session and talk. The thing is she knows what she’s talking about and she can sing infront of many strangers at church so it is the unknown that she was nervous about and I told her that nerves are fine but I know there is nothing to be nervous for just go do your thing and it will be fine.

I was still painting when she arrived home and she sat watching me while she told me that her first session was very nervy shaking voice and sweaty palms but she did a really good talk and the feedback afterwards was great and the uptake was exceptional. Her second talk all the nerves had gone and she smashed as I knew she would even cracking a dick joke making the whole room laugh. She will be very busy over the coming months because LWC will realise what a diamond they have employed and will want her to shine bright for them which she will because thats what she does best

Decorating…

Today was all about decorating the living room but had to take Billy first.

Covered the new floor to protect it and removed the TV and mantlepiece along with everything else that could be moved. First job was preparation and sanding but with my new multi tool with sanding attachment it was light work,

Once all the prep was done it was time to paint but first I had to take Lincoln to gymnastics me and Reagan had a cup of tea while we waited

Back home and time to paint but not before making lunch and doing a load of washing and hanging it up. Finally got a tin of paint open about 14:30 and spent the rest of my day painting the ceiling and walls finishing at 20:30 with two walls left to roller but the cutting in is done.

Tomorrow the feature wall is my main focus but have so.e work early in the morning to sort before I get round to that but hopefully all painting should be completed by end of play tomorrow?

Whoever invented decorating

Went to B&Q tonight to pick up paint and decorating paraphernalia ready to start tomorrow.. Mo.my is working in London so she came in with us before walking across the road to catch her 18:30 train

It’s the middle that’s not working

I took Billy for a walk this morning my first job every morning, when you take on a dog you are committing to walking it every morning for the whole of its life and I have done that with one dog (Jack) and I am loving walking Billy it get me up, out and active to begin my day. This morning I was a few minutes later so I knew I wouldn’t get back to see Reagan off to school so I walked back along the route she would take to school just so I could see her before school. When I got back to the house Mommy was ready to walk with Lincoln to school so I decided to join them and Billy got a second walk, Lincoln is so easy he doesn’t need us to walk him to school nor does he mind if we do, he is such a happy laid back boy he just walks on to the school yard and of to his class with a see you and love you and gone. They are both so different and they are both mine and I love them so much they make me so proud and I love to say that…!

Mommy, me and Billy walked back along the canal back home the sun was out and it was frosty and cold too but it was also perfect I love Jamie we are so well suited and enjoy each others company I can honestly say sometimes it disappoints me that I can’t be with her more and that’s saying something considering we now both work from home and throughout the day we see each other and catch five or ten minutes regularly to talk but I’d still love more hahaha I just love the woman! When we got home I sat down and had breakfast before I started work and she went to the office to start her day.

The Middle

When I finished I pottered as I always do collecting collecting washing up and doing that, moving washing through and folding that, getting a fire going, not on Lincoln’s arm in the hearth and basically that makes me really happy haha Reagan went to drama class so it was just the 3 of us for tea so we had A CHIPPY TEA yay! The rest of the evening we all went to our respective bedrooms to do what we like doing bestest Reagan I am guessing played Minecraft Lincoln I am guessing played Fortnite and I know what me and Mommy played… It was a great night and just what the doctor ordered to finish the day!

MADPL 21/22 Week 6

After cancelling last week ecause so many of us were unavailable due to Covid we took on our local rivals and stablemates Turnpike and after DR got us of to a great start with his best performance this season, not a lot went our way after that with the away side benefitting from “home advantage”?

EJ stubbed a shot, after setting the foundations for a win, which turned the frame on its head LF similarly played a weak shot and was punished. DL was under pressure after their guy potted well from the break but just prolonged the inevitable with some good shots.PJ played really well but was uncharacteristically out gunned late in the frame. I went on next and played poorly followed by SH our last player available who played well but lost.

They chose EJ to play the last frame and he really shone in his second frame of the night playing with confidence and was able to win the last frame to make the final score 6 – 2 to the Turnpike.

Floored

Today was the day our floor arrived and as much as I want to describe it in words I won’t be able to describe it better than a couple of photo’s

The next photo is the during, I had an idea for us all to write a letter to put in a time capsule under the floor for someone in the future to find and we all did our own thing and we added a couple of photos of us and this morning I asked the flooring Guy that’s actually his name if he could put it under the floor which he was only too happy to do!
