Love, Mommy
Tonight was amazing, we came home from a day at of Halloween preparations, we went to the spooky corn maze, punkin’ patch, then out for lunch and to the shops to buy some supplies for the kids’ Halloween costumes. We all came home pretty tired, well daddy and I were tired, the kids were not (like usual).
Lincoln turned on the telly to watch a little Scooby Doo and Reagan asked if she could do some crafting in the kitchen. I sat on the computer for a few minutes to try and do a bit of school work. She came in a few minutes later and said ‘mommy I’m so sorry to bother you but can I please use the pvc glue?’ I said of course you can and off she toddled, then came back because the stool was missing and she could not reach, so I went and got her glue. Then a few minutes later she came back and said ‘mommy, I’m sorry again but can you get me my paint brushes so I can use the glue?’ I said of course and went and got her brushes. A while later she came back again and asked if she could use her finger paints, I said yes, as long as you don’t make a mess everywhere and off she went. A bit later she came in holding her fingers about 5 inches apart and said, ‘mommy do you have a jar I can have about this big?’ I told her that I thought we did and we needed to go to the garage, so off we went in search of an old coffee jar. I gave her the jar and then thought nothing of it. I prepared dinner and talked to the kids, but embarrassingly enough I didn’t really pay attention to what was on the table?
A while later, after dinner, the kids and I were skyping with my mom and Reagan disappeared into the kitchen again and when I asked her what she was doing she laughed and said she was washing up? I kind of laughed it off and we hubg out for a while longer and then we put the kids to bed. I went into the kitchen to see that she has cleaned ALL of her paint mess up, painstakingly got all the paint out of the brushes and cleaned the cup she had used for painting. I was amazed with my baby to be so thorough and so helpful, I was so emotional and so proud of her and as I turned to walk out the kitchen I noticed the jar she asked for on the table. She carefully took the label off and painted it blue and green and on the front she stuck a label (a piece of paper she had painted red) and if you look closely at the front it reads in Reagan’s beautiful handwriting.
‘Mesich in a botl From Reagan’
I AM AMAZED! My baby is so grown, so creative, so smart and I could just burst with happiness for my sweet little girl. After bedtime I had taken a quick bath and then quietly tiptoed into their room for a little peak and she smiled and turned her eyes to mine, I went to her and brushed her hair out of her face and told her that I thank God every single day that He gave me her, I waited my whole life for my sweet Reagan. She smiled the biggest smile at me and I kissed her head and left the room….and came down to find this craft project….my cup runneth over.
